my learning outcome overall

My Learning outcome has been a wonderful Journey, so far I feel  that I have learned so much from my 3 Practicum sites that I will take away something from each one of them.  Either its how the program is ran or how they communicate with the chidlren and seeing what works for each one of the centers I had the pleasure at being at.  Cayoosh was my first one I started at and there were only a 1-3 children there so it was a small one but Dennika was a good mentor I loved she engaged with the children from singing and dancing and although I was only there for a short time it was very good.

My second one I went to was Fountain headstart/preschool was different very structured in my opinion I had a few struggles with the way it was run there but I learned has alot to do with headstart program being offered.  I believe the children needed more outside time and less structure on a daily basis there free play was very short, and more structured time management.  Although they had wonderful learning equipment for the children to engage and learn from but they didnt seem to get to use their imagination to expand. They had 4 sometimes 5 children.

My third practicum I started at Fountain but then realized it wasn’t for me there plus I wanted to experience what it was like with more children so I  moved on to Lillooet Band daycare/preschool which I find there program in the preschool is really great 3 hours long and how different it is was alot of the same age group their capability’s and understanding their learning it a great experience. Also i went back and forth betweeen the daycare/preschool. Within the program the understanding of how the children grow and learning their emotions is a very big concept for the children on teaching them with their care and guidance is so impportaant in the programs by sharing taking turns and helping one another in which i see in Titqet daycare it was so wonderful to see.

I Believe that all children learn differently and it’s our job as ECE teachers to observe and keep on track of where we can assist them to the best of our ability.  We did a leaf project with the 10 children in preschool and after reflecting back I got to pay attention which of the kids had struggle with their cutting techniques and also we glue the crepe paper onto the leaves and see which ones put alot of color into there art.  So I believe in doing art projectes helps them with there creativity skills.

We are creating and establishing rountines while growing independence in daily activities and we are teaching respect and boundaries.
